Working towards a sustainable future that benefits the environment around us
Environmental
Lander are committed to working sustainably and help reduce the environmental impact of our activities whilst also having a positive impression within the communities that we operate.
As a manufacturing organisation we are focused on reducing our carbon footprint through energy saving initiatives, improving the consolidation of materials for transportation, the use of more recycled materials and packaging in the parts we supply.
We are also actively working on projects to help with our carbon offset, these include support for re-forestation programmes, implementing renewable energy systems within our facilities and contributing to community projects throughout the world to promote sustainability.
Community
Our Manufacturing Apprenticeship programme has helped to support young people within the local community for over 5 years. Helping to provide a career path to over 300 apprentices since we started it, the programme has helped to provide vital hands-on experience in a variety of areas whilst also helping to boost the confidence of the young person and giving them a qualification upon graduation from the scheme.
We have actively worked to improve the diversity of our team and have been able to increase the number of employees from a BAME background from 15% up to over 50% since 2016. We are also committed to providing opportunities for women in engineering and aim to nurture talent whenever we see it.
Our team work in conjunction with Career Transition Partnerships to support members of our armed forces transition into civilian life and are signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant.
Support for local charities is also at the heart of our community activities and we hold several fundraising events which are generously supported by our workforce throughout the year.
